From training in Farm hill under the tutelage of Michael Kelly, Paddy Muldoon and Sean Dunnion to climbing the steps of the Hogan Stand to win an All-Ireland medal, Barry’s GAA journey is a book in itself. As for cycling, he reckons he’s struggling to get a bike to suit his tall frame! His love of club, family and friends are the cornerstones of his life, and he is very grateful for the opportunities afforded to him by so many during his playing career. Along with his wife Nicola, he is heavily involved in coaching in the club and with their four girls in action, it is a long-term contract! Barry is participating in the cycle in memory of his sister and club legend Donna who will keep him going when the legs get tired.
